FAQ's regarding : BLUE RIDGE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE'S BLUE RIDGE PUBLIC SCHOOL

 
1) Why we are coming up with a school in Blue Ridge?
Majorly, the idea of establishing a school is an out come of a sense of corporate social responsibility of Paranjape Schemes. Also, the Paranjape family has been in the field of education since generations. Lastly, as we are coming up with a Township, it is mandatory to have a school in a Township Project.
 
2) How did we get the permission for the same? Can anybody get permission to run a school?

We formally applied for the permission as per procedure.
Yes, anyone can get the permission for the same.

 
3) Do all townships have schools? Is it mandatory that a township has to have a school?
According to Rules, all Townships should have school. It depends upon the Township owner whether they provide for it themselves or choose to outsource the same.

4) How much is the ground area & school area?
Total school area is 9 acres of which 5 acres are dedicated for sports activities.
 
5) Who will run the school?
The Paranjape family has established an institute named 'Blue Ridge Educational Institute' will run the 'Blue Ridge Public School' under its aegis.
 
6) Which schools do we have and are they similar in anyway to the Blue Ridge school?
Paranjape has Established First school at Vile Parle Mumbai. In Pune Paranjape has One School (Paranjape School) for Primary & secondary at Kothrud. Other one is at Law College Road for Pre-Primary. But Blue Ridge is totally different from others, as Blue Ridge has 5 acres land for Sports. Whereas now a days none of the school have such big play ground area.
 
7) What is the full form of ICSE?
The full form of ICSE is "Indian Certificate of Secondary Education". The name of the governing body is C.I.S.C.E - Council for the Indian Certificate Examinations.
 
8) Is the ICSE pattern confirmed?
YES. The ICSE pattern is confirmed .
 
9) Why did we decide to go ahead with the ICSE syllabus as opposed to CBSE or any other?
Kindly direct to the Principal.
 
10) What will be the Paranjape Group participation in the school?
The Paranjape family has initiated the establishment of Blue Ridge Educational institute.
 
11) Who will head the school? What is their background?
Mrs. Joshi will be the head of the Pre- Primary section. She has 30+ years experience. Mrs. Smita Kshirsagar will be the head of the Primary school; she has 22+ years of experience.
 
12) Is this school different in any way from other schools? If yes, Why and How?
YES. Blue Ridge School is different from other school in various ways .The excellent infrastructure of an international level is the most unique feature along with many others Sports Fields spread over 5.2 acres, 3 large Court yards, 2 Libraries, Well equipped labs for physics, chemistry , biology , math & computers. A multipurpose hall with a built in stage and in door basket ball court. Separate play area for Pre-Primary students. There will be a healthy student-teacher ratio. There will be 25 students in the Pre-Primary and in Primary 30 students. These certain things make Blue Ridge school different from others.
 
13) The 1 st phase of the township will not be ready by June 2010, who are we expecting to put their children in this school in that case?
Admission to the school is open to everybody. It is not restricted to the township residents only.
 
14) Will there be any special rates or concessions for the Blue Ridge residents?
The fees are already quite modest. There will be no special concession for Blue Ridge residents. But there will be definitely preference for Blue Ridge residents.
 
15) When will the admission for the next Academic Year start? Will that be for all classes?
The Admission Form sale will be from 5th January to 8th January 2011 for all classes from Nursery to STD VI. It will be for 4 days - 5, 6, 7, 8 of January 2011 between 10.00 am to 1.00 pm in the school premises.
 
16) Why are different classes starting in different years?
That is the technical requirement of the affiliation procedure. We will start the classes in different years to manage entire school in a systematic manner.
 
17) Is there any advance payment when one takes admission how much?
YES. There will be a one-time refundable deposit of Rs 10,000.
 
18) Is there any provision for pick up & drop within township or outside?
Yes there will be pick up & drop facilities on chargeable basis.
 
19) What is the process for Admission??
A printed circular furnishing all the details about the same will be provided along with the Admission Forms on the above said days.
 
20) What is the strength of 1 class / how many students will be there in one class?
For Pre-Primary 25 per class & for Primary 30 per class.
 
21) How many classes' rooms will be there on each floor?
For Pre-primary "4 classes" on each floor & for Primary "8 classes" on each floor.
 
22) Want to know about security in school?
There will be high security in the school for students. At the time of admission parents have to submit their photographs as also give the name of one local guardian who will be authorized to custody of the child in the parent's absence. Nobody else, other than the three will be allowed to take the child from the school.
 
23) Fees structure from Primary to Secondary school?

The school will only have the Pre-Primary and Primary section for this Academic Year. The fee- structure is as follows

24) Is there any plan for hostel facility?
No. There will not be any Hostel Facilities.
 
25) Is Crèche included in school or not?
After School Care facility will be on chargeable basis, within the school premises. It is not included in the above mentioned fee.
 
26) What is the school timing is it morning or afternoon?

The school timings will be :

  • Nursery,Jr KG and Sr KG - 8.30am to 11.30am
  • STD I to VI - 8.30am to 2.30pm
 
27) At the time of June 2010 multi purpose will hall, playground be ready?
YES. The Multipurpose Hall and playground will be ready by the end of the year 2010
 
28) Do the annual fees include tuition fees & library fees??
Yes.
 
29) Can Blue Ridge members use playground??
YES. Blue Ridge members can use the playground after the school hours.
 
30) What would be the ratio of teacher & student?
The Teacher - Student ratio will be 1:12 for Pre-Primary with 1 maid & 1:15 for Std.1. The school is committed to maintain student teacher ratio through-out, with adequate maid facility.
 
31) Construction of further classes will be going on even after the school starts --- If yes so it would be disturbance for regular classes??
Though the construction of further classes will be on even after the school starts, the Functioning area will be well barricaded from the ongoing construction for security as also to avoid dust and noise pollution. It will not be disturbing for regular classes. Most of the remaining construction will be carried out in the long vacations as far as possible.
 
32) Why did you opt for the ICSE board?

We took a call from several parents and most of them preferred ICSE. The ICSE board offers international level of English which is need of the times .

 
33) Paranjape's are builders, what if they lose interest in the project after some time?
The Paranjape family has been in the field of education since long. They established the 'Parle-Tilak Vidyalaya Association' that has under its aegis 7 educational institutes; 4 schools and 3 colleges in Ville Parle, Mumbai. The Paranjape also have 2 schools in Pune.To live up to their commitment and to cater to the needs of the residents in and around Hinjewadi along with the residents of the Blue Ridge Township, they have started with Blue Ridge Educational Institute.
 

34) You do not have an affiliation, then haw have you started with a school? What if you don't get Any?

We are following all the technical formalities needed. We far exceed the minimum criteria needed for affiliation so we are sure to get an affiliation. The land requirement is minimum 2 acres, we have 9 acres. Area per child is 16.8 sq.ft. , ours is much more than that. Any school seeking affiliation with the council is eligible to do so only when it begins with STD 6. Accordingly, we are eligible to apply in June 2011 when our 6th STD class begins.
 
35) The school is providing meals will they be cooked within the premises? Is it compulsory?
The meals will be cooked elsewhere and brought to school. The provision will be optional.
 
36) Who will be on the school board?

    He is commerce graduate of university of Mumbai. He is 48 years & having 25 yrs of working experience. Heading a company engaged in the business of Real Estate Development, under the brand and company name of "Paranjape Schemes" a household name in Pune for housing requirements, for the last 16 years and have completed projects numbering more than 80,  and construction of approx. 3,414,921 sq.feet valued at over US$100 million. They have to their credit a project "Athashri". A one of its kind residential complex in the whole of India exclusively designed for the senior generation of the country. The name Paranjape Schemes has become a Hall Mark in itself in the Housing Industry.
  2. Shrikant Purushottam Paranjape - Promoter Director
    He is an qualified Chartered Accountant & aged  52 years  is heading a company engaged in the business of Real Estate Development, under the brand and company name of "Paranjape Schemes" a household name in Pune for housing requirements, for the last 19 years and have completed projects numbering more than 95 and construction of approx. 36,37,894 sq. feet valued at over US$100 million.

    They have to their credit a project "Athashri". A one of its kind residential complex in the whole of India exclusively designed for the senior generation of the country. The name Paranjape Schemes has become a Hall Mark in itself in the Housing Industry.

37) How many divisions per class will there be?
There will be 2 divisions per class for this Academic Year. In the long run, the Pre-Primary would have 4 and STD I onwards there would be 8 divisions per class.
 
38) This area does not have the municipal drinking water connection, how will you arrange for potable water for the students?
We have our own Water Treatment Plant in the Township .Arrangements for safe drinking water in the school will be made from the same.
 
39) My child will go to STD 7 next year. Will she get admission?

No. For the next year, we will have classes from Nursery to STD 6 only. STD 7 & STD 8 will begin in the Academic Year 2012-2013.
